Research content -Wireless power transfer/High frequency-

Our laboratory aims to develop the high-frequency power converters for wireless power transfer systems and has the studies on the technologies on high-frequency switching for high power density and high-efficiency of the power converters.

Development of wireless power transfer system

High-frequency converters are required in wireless power transfer systems because the high-frequency operations of the wireless power transfer can downsize transmitting coils. We have been developing the power supply and the converters which convert from high-frequency AC to DC or commercial frequency. We are aiming to the spreading practical uses of the wireless power transfer with increasing high power density and efficiency of the converters. Recently we work in research and development of wireless power transfer for high-power applications.

Research on High-frequency switching technology

As the next-generation power device can use in a high frequency domain, the power density, volume and efficiency of the electricity converter can be increased.

Therefore we are aiming the establishment of the basic technology for the high frequency switching realization by using next-generation power devices such as SiC and GaN and the current source gate drive unit.
